Sixth Form Fundraising: Charity Week
BackAylesford School Warwick’s Sixth Form Leadership Team work very closely with local charities every year to support them through volunteering and fundraising. Each year the fundraising reaches its pinnacle during ‘Charity Week’. The most recent Charity Week, held in October 2022 was arranged and championed by the Year 13 Charity Ambassador Kerren Austin. The school raised over £3000 during this week for four nominated local charities. On Friday 21st April, Aylesford School invited the local charities the Mat Davis Foundation; Molly Olly’s Wishes’ Lifespace and Kissing It Better to a Cheque Presentation. Each charity received £750 and the charity representatives spoke to the students about the benefits this would bring to their charities.
Rachel Ollerenshaw from Molly Olly’s Wishes said “It was a real privilege to be invited and to meet the students. What a credit they are to the school. They were engaging, supportive and very genuine with their interest and desire to help….They should be very proud of themselves.”
