Catch Up

Plans for catching up with missed learning opportunities. 

  You will remember that during the Autumn Term, the closure of our main buildings led to several weeks of online learning for learners in years 7, 8, 9 and 10. We recognise that during this period, our young people will have had fewer opportunities to engage with our curriculum and may not have secured some of the knowledge and skills that they need. 

  As a result, we have designed a plan that both identifies where knowledge acquisition may have been missed and modifies the future curriculum to ensure that there are numerous opportunities to revisit these areas. 

  A table has been produced for each year group, so that you can swiftly see how and when topics that were taught during periods of remote learning will be revisited. In addition, clicking on the year group and subject area will provide you with even more detail. 

  Catching up works best when learners are being taught in their normal lessons by their subject teacher. Through regular retrieval practice, learners will be assessed on how well they have caught up and if necessary, additional interventions will be made to provide further support. 

  We also have a plan for those older learners in Years 11, 12 and 13 who have not been able to access our specialist classrooms during the building closure.  

  All learners in Years 11 and 13 have a timetable of revision sessions for most of their subjects that has already been sent to parents and carers.
