Music

Back

The intent of our Music curriculum is to deliver a curriculum which engages and inspires pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. It maximises outcomes for every pupil by ensuring an accessible, challenging curriculum personalised to the needs of our learners.

As a result of this, they will:

  • Increase and develop their skills in listening to a range of styles
  • Develop their evaluation of music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions
  • Increase their knowledge of how to sing and use their voices
  • Develop and use their skills in creating and composing music on their own and with others
  • Increase their use of technology and how to use it appropriately
  • Increase and develop their understanding of how music is created, produced and communicated
  • Have a seamless transition from Primary to Secondary Phase
